Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use this plugin?

Go to Admin → Rearrange Products and drag-and-drop products into your preferred order. To sort by category, click the "Sort by Categories" tab and select a category from the dropdown.

Can I recover my product order after deactivating the plugin?

  • Deactivating the plugin temporarily disables your custom product order, but the data is preserved. Reactivating restores it.
  • Deleting (uninstalling) the plugin permanently removes all category-specific sort order data and it cannot be restored. Global sort order (stored in menu_order) persists even after deletion.

Does this plugin work with WooCommerce shortcodes?

Yes. You can use your custom sort order with shortcodes like:

[product_category category="my-category-slug"]

To enable this:

  1. Go to Admin → Rearrange Products → Settings
  2. Set the sorting scope to "All Loops (including shortcodes)"

See Settings for more details.

What does the Pro version include?

The Pro version adds three features:

  1. Smart Sort — Bulk sort products by best-selling, ratings, price, stock status, sale status, and more with a single click
  2. Sort Presets — Save product arrangements and switch between them instantly
  3. Import / Export — Transfer product arrangements between sites via JSON files with SKU-based matching

Can I try the free version first?

Absolutely. The free version includes drag-and-drop sorting for all products and categories. You can upgrade to Pro at any time.

Will I lose my product order if I downgrade from Pro to Free?

No. Your manually arranged product order (global and category-specific) is preserved. However, Pro features like presets, Smart Sort, and Import/Export will no longer be accessible until you upgrade again.

Can I use Import/Export to migrate product order to a new site?

Yes. The Import/Export feature (Pro) exports your product arrangements as a JSON file. When importing on a different site, products are matched by SKU, so your arrangements transfer correctly even if product IDs differ between sites.

Does the plugin affect site performance?

No. The plugin is lightweight and only modifies product queries on the frontend. It uses efficient database queries and doesn't add any overhead to pages that don't display products.

Is the plugin compatible with HPOS (High-Performance Order Storage)?

Yes. The plugin declares full compatibility with WooCommerce's HPOS feature.

Does the plugin support WPML?

Yes. Global product sort orders are synced across language translations when using WPML.
